Reasons why a gasoline lawn mower won't start

The lawn mower does not start, reasons and solutions for a speedy return to life of Chinese, Japanese, European and Russian lawn mowers with a two-stroke internal combustion engine.

The instructions for the trimmer usually say that you should not try to repair the mechanism yourself unless you have special experience. But since 90% of brush cutters are cheap Chinese crap, it’s not profitable to go to a workshop every time, either in terms of money or in terms of time. It’s better to fix all the breakdowns yourself, since the two-stroke motor is as simple as a flask.

So, a lawn mower, like any other two-stroke internal combustion engine, may not start for three reasons:

  • The power supply system is faulty;
  • The ignition system is faulty;
  • No compression.

Diagnosis should begin with the latter. If there is no compression in the cylinder, and the spark plug is in place, then the engine is kaput. Without compression, the engine turns over very easily, as if there is a hole in the piston (sometimes this happens). The fact is that brush cutters overheat very easily, especially in hot weather. In the summer, you should not work with a lawn mower for more than 10 minutes; also, engine death can occur from bad oil, its small amount or complete absence. There is only one verdict here: repair the motor, fortunately it is as simple as three rubles, and even a child can do it. If, of course, you have a spare piston on hand (in some cases you can change the rings).

If there is compression, then more complex diagnostic dances with a tambourine await.

Ignition system

First of all, you need to unscrew the spark plug and look for a spark. The spark plug is inserted into the cap and placed with its skirt against the metal of the engine. If there is no spark when cranking, then first of all, you need to try changing the spark plug.

If replacing the spark plug does not help, then you should inspect the wire and switch. Breakdowns, short circuits, jammed buttons - all this leads to loss of spark. If this doesn’t give anything, then you need to look at the sparking system itself.

The spark in the ignition system of a lawn mower is obtained in the simplest and most moronic way. No relays, distributors, electronic units for you. An outrageously simple magneto with a high-voltage wire. The entire assembly is changed; when choosing a coil on Chinese lawn mowers, you can borrow an assembly from chainsaws, mixers, haymowers and other generators. But you need to remember that many products fit in size, but not all of them are defective.

Supply system

If the ignition system is easy to diagnose and rarely fails, then there are often problems with the power system of the lawn mower. Because of this, the engine most often does not start.

Before you get into the carburetor, which, despite its simplicity, can be irrevocably damaged by a crooked master, you should start with a more detailed startup diagnostics. Is the primer pumping gas? Were there any unstable operation or failures before the lawn mower died?

Another very popular option for a brush cutter not starting is a gas tank plug. If the valve on it is clogged or does not work, then the pump simply cannot pump fuel. The primer feeds until a vacuum accumulates, but the process does not go further. So if the lawn mower starts up and immediately stalls, you need to first look at the plug.

Also, gasoline and filter often affect engine starting. If the fuel is of poor quality, or there is too much oil in it, as well as a clogged filter, then nothing will work.

Does the engine start, but when you increase the speed (pull the trigger) it sputters and stalls? Most likely an air problem. You also need to look at where it is leaking, whether the air filter is clogged, inspect the gasoline hoses, whether there are any cracks, and so on. Usually the carburetor is the last thing to break down, and it's all about the attachments.

If the lawn mower starts and immediately stalls, there may be an overflow. With this, the lawn mower does not start when hot, and the spark plug has a black coating. In this case, the carburetor is to blame, either the needle does not hold, or the metering jet is poisoning. The quality bolt needs to be tightened, pressed with a primer - if it misses, then it needs to be corrected. If not, look at the needle.

It is best to get into the carburetor if you can buy a new one. Despite the fact that it is the simplest in lawn mowers, you can ruin the unit forever. To begin with, you should spray the pipes with cleaner, blow them out, and try to start them. If this does not help, then you should remove the cover and inspect the dosing nozzle (needle), it often hangs in one position. There may also be a torn membrane if dips appear when you press the gas.

The lawn mower may not start if the fuel hose is pinched or some fitting is clogged. Therefore, many problems can be solved by simple blowing and inspection.

If the lawn mower does not start, the reasons and solutions follow from simple diagnostics, using the above instructions you can easily detect the breakdown.

Why won't my petrol trimmer start?

The owner of a summer cottage cannot do without a lawn mower or trimmer. But during its operation, situations may arise when this unit for some reason stops starting. And there can be many reasons for this. Let's find out why a gasoline trimmer won't start.

Why the trimmer won't start - reasons

To determine why a gasoline trimmer has difficulty starting or constantly stalls, you need to consistently check the operation of all the main components of the unit. It is especially important to do this after long-term storage of the lawn mower. So, the main reasons for this behavior of the trimmer are as follows:

  1. The culprit that the lawn mower does not start may be a poor-quality oil-gasoline fuel mixture. It must be prepared strictly according to the instructions. Saving here is not at all appropriate, since it can lead to failure of the entire piston group of the trimmer. You should not prepare too much fuel mixture, as excess gasoline will lose its quality over time.
  2. You should know that gasoline trimmers of brands such as Stihl, Husgvarna and some others will not start if they are filled with cheap gasoline with a low octane number. Therefore, for such units it is necessary to use only high-quality high-octane fuel.
  3. If the trimmer stalls immediately upon startup, then it may have a flooded spark plug. In this case, you need to unscrew it and dry it thoroughly for half an hour. Then drain the excess fuel that is in the chamber, clean the spark plug from carbon deposits, put it in place and try to start the lawn mower.
  4. If your new gas trimmer won't start, it may be due to a lack of spark. This happens because the socket where the spark plug is located is dry and the fuel does not ignite. Lightly moisten the threaded connection of the spark plug with a few drops of gasoline.
  5. A gasoline trimmer may stall due to clogged air or fuel filters. It is best to replace such elements with new ones.
  6. The exhaust duct and breather can also become clogged. By cleaning these trimmer elements, you can start the unit without any problems.
  7. Another reason why a gasoline trimmer does not start, even when there is a spark, may be a clogged carburetor. To clean the channels and jets, you need to blow them with compressed air using a compressor.

The trimmer does not start when cold, what are the reasons?

First, let's look at the situation when it is impossible to start the engine of a lawn mower when it is cold. What does this mean? Surely mowers have encountered a situation where the trimmer starts up just fine when hot, but as soon as you take a short break, a problem arises. This is a problem with starting the engine after it has cooled down. What could be the reason? Of course, no one excluded all the factors described above, but if the situation occurs constantly, then there is no need to check them. If the lawn mower starts well when it’s hot, but problems arise when it’s cold, then you should look for the reasons inside the CPG (cylinder-piston group).

To identify the problem, you will need to use a compression gauge. We screw the compression gauge into the hole instead of a spark plug, and then activate the starter handle. We measure the pressure inside the cylinder - compression. The compression value should be on the order of 8-12 atmospheres. After the tool has warmed up (it is enough to work for 15-20 minutes), you should repeat the checking procedure. If the compression on a hot engine is below 8 atmospheres, then a CPG malfunction is likely. This means that the rings, piston and cylinder walls are worn.

The situation can be corrected by replacing the CPG. When replacing, it is important to take into account such a recommendation as generously lubricating the parts with engine oil inside the cylinder. This is necessary to ensure that scuffing does not occur in the first minutes of starting a new cylinder with a piston.

When engine compression decreases, fuel consumption increases and tool performance also decreases. It is possible to work with such a tool, but wear increases with each subsequent hour of work. One day it will be impossible to start the lawn mower at all, even when warming up.

This is interesting! You can warm up the engine of a lawn mower with low compression by pulling the starter handle. When warmed up, the metal expands, thereby increasing compression.

Chainsaw wet spark plug: why and what to do

You can use a special flush to clean the carburetor.

How does the breather affect the ability to start a lawn mower engine?

After troubleshooting the chainsaw filters, check the vent plug. The vent fitting is the component that is responsible for equalizing the pressure in the tank. As fuel gradually enters the carburetor from the tank, the pressure increases (a vacuum is created). A vent valve, a type of valve located on the tool tank lid, is used to relieve the vacuum inside the tank. This valve has a filter element that filters the air entering the tank.

Over time, the filter becomes clogged and creates a vacuum in the tank. This is trivial, but in 30% of cases the reason the trimmer fails to start is a clogged vent valve. You can clean the trimmer's vent plug and continue to use the tool. To verify that the vent plug is causing the trimmer problem, follow these steps:

  • Unscrew the fuel tank cap
  • Replace the cover and start the machine engine. If the engine starts but stops after a while (when the fuel level in the tank is low), clean the vent plug.
  • If ventilation occurs when unscrewing, then we can say with 100% certainty that the ventilation plug is faulty.

The ventilation plug can be cleaned with a regular sewing needle. Many people are not even aware of the existence of this important product and often do not know what to do if the engine of a gasoline trimmer does not start. To answer the question of how the vent valve affects engine starting, it should be noted that it has a direct effect. Excessive pressure in the tank prevents fuel from entering the carburetor, so the engine does not want to start.

What should you do if your chainsaw spark plug is flooded?

Most often this happens to beginners when, when starting up for the first time, they miss a “pop” on the closed air damper and continue to pull the starter handle, respectively, a lot of gasoline is produced in the combustion chamber, and not enough air prevents the gasoline from igniting.

The problem can be solved simply:

  1. Use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the spark plug and check its condition. If the spark plug is wet and there is a spark, then it has been flooded. We open the air damper, turn on the switch button, squeeze the gas “all the way” and start it. The excess gasoline should come out of the saw's exhaust and the saw will start.
  2. Use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the spark plug and check its condition. If the spark plug is wet and there is a spark, then it has been flooded. Turn the chainsaw over with the spark plug hole down and turn the starter ten times, while excess fuel will flow out of the engine cylinder. Then wipe dry (calcine) the spark plug, or replace it with a new one and try again to start the engine exactly following the operating instructions. If the spark plug is completely dry, this means that no fuel is entering the engine. And since there is it in the tank, then the problem is probably in the carburetor. You can take a little mixture into a syringe, inject it into the cylinder, tighten the spark plug and try to start the engine. But if the engine starts and immediately stalls, then the problem remains and you need to contact a service center.

At high speeds

When the braid is delayed at high speed, it is associated with the following problems:

  • Clogged or stuck valve located on the gas tank cap;
  • The carburetor is not aligned due to vibrations that occur during operation of the mechanism;
  • Problems with the circulation of the fuel mixture;
  • Air flow;
  • The fuel injection hose is cracked or loose.

Carburetor settings, Based on the trimmer operating instructions. To adjust, it is often enough to loosen the body tightening. If there are problems with the circulation of the fuel mixture, it can gradually enter the carburetor. After its development, the engine stops at high speed.

Gasoline trimmer does not start - reasons

Many gardening tools are useful and effective, but there are times when the equipment refuses to work. Among them was a trimmer, which can mow both a miniature lawn and huge lawns.

Reasons why a gasoline trimmer does not start

There are various reasons why a gasoline trimmer does not start:

    The most common cause of breakdown lies in the wrong choice of fuel. Often, overly frugal users of the device fill the tank with something dubious, but not fuel with a normal octane number. Low-quality fuel kept in a plastic canister for a long time has a terrifying effect. A device that has lost its functionality for this reason is sent for a complete overhaul of the mechanism.

How to start a lawn mower when the engine is at home

It is especially difficult to start the mower after a long period of inactivity. What should the user do when gardening equipment refuses to work:

  • If the device has not been cleaned for a long time, it is necessary to flush the air motor; it is cleaned with gasoline (preferably every 24 hours). You can remove the filter from the device and start the unit if the mower is running, this is the reason.
  • After winter, the remains of old gas in the tank can interfere with the operation of the device. The problem is easily solved if you replace the fuel with a new one.
  • Lack of oil in the crankcase can also cause the lawn mower to not start . Check the fuel for fuel in the tank.
  • Incorrect throttle position when first starting. At temperatures ≥ 30°C, it should be in the middle position or close. After reboot. open.
  • Jamming of the crankshaft, piston. can be removed by slightly moving these parts. The main thing is to do this carefully so as not to break the mechanism.
  • Respiratory contamination. The fuel supply has been stopped and the part must be cleaned.
  • Dry threaded connection. If there is no ignition spark, lubricate the connection with gasoline.
  • Faulty spark plug. accumulation of oil on it, plaque. The candle is twisted, well dried, and cleaned with a nail file. Excess fuel is drained and dried for at least 30 minutes. Spark plug hole. If it cannot be cleaned, the part may need to be replaced.
  • The contact between the high-voltage wire and the spark plug is also checked for the presence of a spark. If the latter does not occur, the ignition system malfunction will only be identified and repaired by a service center.

What to do if your lawn mower won't start?

Lawn mowers based on internal combustion engines are the most convenient and popular in everyday life. Unlike electric units, they are autonomous and do not limit the operating area by the length of the power cord.

However, like any complex mechanical device, gasoline lawn mowers periodically break down or simply malfunction. Below we will look at the most common breakdowns of lawn mowers powered by four-stroke internal combustion engines.

The most common problems with lawn mowers

  • Problems with the carburetor;
  • Malfunctions in the starting system;
  • Problems in the fuel supply system to the combustion chamber;
  • Violation of the order of mixing fuel with air (proportions of the air-fuel mixture).
  • As for problems with engine failure or jamming, they practically do not occur in cart-type lawn mowers, which we discuss in the article. These malfunctions are more likely to be typical for manual gasoline scythes and account for almost half of the reasons why their users contact service centers.

    Professional diagnostics

    Service stations are available not only for cars, but also for garden equipment. A service center is usually contacted if the piston and carburetor of the device are defective. Why and why the lawn mower does not start in these cases, the technician determines:

    • Damage to the integrity of the device or individual parts. tonometer, apply pressure to find the affected area, tape it.
    • Channels and injectors are clogged. The elements are purged with air and cleaning fluids are used.
    • Worn pistons and gasket. replace the assembly.

    We find the reasons why the lawn mower refuses to start

    If the lawn mower stubbornly refuses to start, and for some reason you do not want or cannot contact a service workshop, then try following a simple troubleshooting algorithm. As always, use an effective search method, moving from simple to more complex reasons.

    1. Check the engine pressure level (compression) . To do this, you will have to acquire in advance a special device - a compression meter for measuring the parameters of lawn mowers. Normal engine compression levels should be in the range from five to eight atmospheres (all depending on the individual characteristics of your engine). The compression parameters of your unit must be indicated in the accompanying technical documentation. If the compression level is much less than specified, it means that your piston system is out of order and requires a more in-depth study, repair or replacement of its elements.

    2. The lawn mower engine is jammed . Although this type of malfunction is much less common in cart-type devices, it cannot be completely ruled out. Basically, engine jamming occurs due to gross violations of the operating conditions of lawn mowers. But if this does happen, then repairing the lawn mower at a service center will cost you a lot. Therefore, always carefully read and follow the manufacturer’s recommended operating, storage and maintenance instructions for the device.

    3. Lawn mower starter malfunction . Checking the functioning of the starter is quite simple: just try to pull the starter cord out of the lawn mower. If it does not pull out, try unscrewing the top cover of the mower along with the trigger mechanism and try to pull the cord out again. If this time the cord does not yield, we diagnose a breakdown of the starter.

    If the cord begins to stretch after separating the cover from the engine, place the mower on its side and try to turn the working blade several times with your hands. If the knife does not rotate, it means that the engine is jammed and you will have to send it to a service center, carry out in-depth diagnostics and, depending on the result, repair or replace it.

    4. The carburetor has failed . This is the most common cause (more than half) of breakdowns of cart-type lawn mowers. The carburetor will have to be removed from the lawn mower, disassembled and carefully examined. Also pay attention to the serviceability of the gaskets and the air damper, which is responsible for mixing air with fuel.

    The trimmer does not start due to a carburetor malfunction

    One of the most unpleasant reasons for the inability to start a gas scythe is the carburetor. This mechanism is responsible for preparing and properly supplying the fuel-air mixture to the cylinder. If the carburetor is clogged or incorrectly adjusted, the car may not start or may run rough. For detailed instructions on adjusting the carburetor of a chainsaw, see this material.

    If the adjustment does not help restore stable operation of the tool engine or the trimmer does not start at all, then it is necessary to remove and repair the carburetor. All carburetor repairs involve disassembling it and cleaning all channels and components. If necessary, replace damaged parts - membranes, filters, etc.

    If you suspect carburetor damage, look for the following types of problems:

    1. The channels and nozzles are clogged - special liquids can be used for cleaning, but it is best to disassemble the mechanism and rinse it thoroughly. Clogging of carburetor channels and nozzles occurs due to storing tools with fuel in the tank.
    2. Worn carburetor seals - rubber seals cause leaks in the mechanism, which leads to carburetor failure
    3. Malfunction of the carburetor diaphragms - they are responsible for pumping fuel to the unit

    To determine if the cylinder block is faulty, perform the compression test described above.

    Where to start diagnosing a lawn mower

    If the lawn mower does not start or stalls immediately after starting, it is necessary to sequentially check all the main components and assemblies. The verification algorithm is as follows:

    • Fuel tank (fuel quality);
    • Candle and candle channel;
    • Air filter;
    • Fuel filter;
    • Breather;
    • Exhaust channel.

    These nodes are most often the source of the main problems, which can be eliminated after a thorough inspection.

    Checking the fuel mixture

    Before starting the gasoline scythe engine, check the availability and quality of the fuel mixture. Don’t save money, don’t be greedy, and don’t be “clever” in this matter. Repairing or replacing the piston group will cost you too much (sometimes up to 70% of the cost of a new tool). The oil-fuel mixture must be prepared strictly according to the instructions. Calculate its quantity based on real needs. The excess gasoline remaining after work loses its quality over time.

    We diagnose the spark plug and spark plug channel

    If the quality of the fuel mixture is not in doubt, and the lawn mower stalls when starting, then the cause may be a flooded spark plug. Here, a regular spark plug wrench (surely every motorist has one) and a spare spark plug are suitable for repairs.

    • We unscrew the candle and wipe it;
    • Dry it thoroughly (do not heat it);
    • We drain the excess fuel in the chamber through the spark plug hole and dry it;
    • We clean the old candle from carbon deposits using a file or a lady’s nail file;
    • We set the gap with a distance of 1 mm (you can check it with any coin);
    • We return everything to its place and try to start the trimmer.

    You need to dry the canal for at least 30–40 minutes. Otherwise, there is a risk of re-filling a new spark plug.

    If the spark plug is working, the socket where it is located is completely dry, and the lawn mower does not want to start, lubricate the threaded connection with gasoline. It should be slightly moist. No matter how wonderful a spark a candle produces, there is simply nothing to light up in a dry chamber.

    If the trimmer engine still does not start, a reason such as lack of spark due to poor contact between the spark plugs and the high-voltage wire should be excluded. If the connection is good, but there is still no spark, most likely your ignition unit has failed. Here you won’t be able to do without a specialist, since the part is not repaired, but sold as a single unit.

    Diagnostics of lawn mower filters

    Another reason why a gas scythe stalls may be the air filter. To eliminate this, try removing the filter and starting the trimmer without it. If it works out, then you will have to change the air filter to a new one, or at least blow out and thoroughly clean the old one.

    A gasoline trimmer may not start due to contamination of the fuel filter. This is the next stage of our algorithm. Here we check the condition of the filter element and, if necessary, replace it with a new one. When replacing, try not to leave the suction pipe completely without a filter; this is prohibited by any operating instructions. Haste can result in repair of the engine piston group.

    Breather and exhaust channel

    Often, “delicate” branded models of lawn mowers do not start and stall due to contamination of the breather. The main function of this element is to equalize the pressure in the gas tank. When this unit becomes clogged, a vacuum is created in the tank, preventing the supply of fuel. The problem can be resolved by cleaning the breather. You can use a regular needle for cleaning.

    The normal operation of scythes with internal combustion engines may be disrupted due to dirt getting into the exhaust channel or clogging of the muffler mesh. This problem occurs on older generation models. The issue can be resolved by traditional cleaning and removal of the anti-spark mesh.

    If the trimmer does not start, check the serviceability of the filters

    It is recommended to check the air filter, which cleans the air entering the carburetor. If the cleaning element becomes clogged, the air flow into the carburetor will decrease or stop altogether. To find out if the air filter is the reason why your trimmer won't start, you can do this in a simple way:

    1. Remove the air filter and check its condition. If it's blocked, you can blame the part
    2. If the blockage is not visible, try starting the engine without a filter. If the trimmer does not start without a filter, you should definitely replace this part.
    3. The air filter can be cleaned with a jet of compressed air, but if it has not been changed for a long time, it is recommended to replace it with a new one.

    Please note that a clogged air filter may prevent the trimmer from starting, but this is extremely rare. Quite often, a clogged air filter affects the stability of the engine and also leads to decreased performance.

    This is interesting! If the chainsaw was started without an air filter, it is not recommended to start the machine without a filter cartridge, as this will allow debris to get into the cylinder and thereby shorten the life of the machine.

    The real reason why a gasoline chainsaw will not start is a clogged fuel filter. This part is located in the tool tank, and if the car is more than 2 years old, it's time to check the fuel filter element. If the filter is clogged, the fuel mixture does not enter the carburetor and therefore the trimmer will not start.

    Replacing the fuel filter is easy, just remove the part from the tank and replace it. If you are going to clean the fuel filter using a compressor, it is better not to do this. To clean a gasoline lawn mower, it is better to buy a new fuel filter, since there will still be blockages inside the old element. The video below shows how to change the fuel filter on an Oleo-Mac chainsaw.

    If you are not sure that the fuel cleaning element is causing your trimmer's engine to not start, follow these steps:

    1. Remove the fuel filter
    2. Start the mower
    3. If it starts quickly, the problem is definitely the fuel filter

    The filter becomes clogged for the following reasons

    • If the tool is used continuously for a long period of time
    • When filling a fuel tank that has been stored for a long time
    • If dust and small particles get into the tool tank. This usually happens when refilling the tool.
    • Long-term storage of fuel in a tank
    • When using low-quality gasoline or oil.

    This is interesting! If the fuel filter works, but the chainsaw does not start, it is worth checking whether the fuel hose is filled with fuel. It happens that the hose and filter are disconnected from the pipe, which makes it impossible to start the engine.

    More complex reasons for lawn mower failure

    If the step-by-step troubleshooting algorithm does not produce results, and your scythe still does not start or stalls, it is worth inspecting the carburetor and the engine itself. A clogged carburetor can be one of the reasons for unstable operation of the tool. There are three main problems here:

    • Clogged channels or jets. All this is cleaned with special washes or blown with a powerful jet of compressed air from a compressor. Do not use needles or wire, as the bores may be damaged;
    • Worn carburetor gasket. The solution is to replace the failed gasket;
    • Violation of tightness. To check this indicator, you can use a regular household tonometer, replacing the pressure gauge with a suitable one. Keep an eye on the readings: if they do not change, everything is fine, but if the pressure starts to drop, it means that some part of the carburetor is faulty. You'll have to find it and replace it with a new one.

    If everything is in order with the carburetor, then the gasoline trimmer may not start due to wear on the piston group. If chips, scratches or burrs are found on the piston or cylinder, they should be replaced. Piston rings must be checked. A slight luffing of the piston when the connecting rod swings indicates that it is time to change the rings. This procedure is best left to the service center specialists.

    Dry and wet spark plug, what does this mean and how does it affect engine starting?

    Most tool owners immediately resort to checking the condition of the spark plug contacts. The goal is to determine by the condition of the spark plug what may be the reason for the inability to start the lawn mower engine. Based on the condition of the spark plug contacts, conclusions can be drawn about what may be causing the malfunction. To diagnose a spark plug in a trimmer, you must perform the following steps:

    1. The spark plug is unscrewed, after which it must be inspected. The ideal condition of the electrodes is when they have brown dirt (brick red color). If the spark plug is wet, black or white, this is a sign of a problem.
    2. If the spark plug is wet, there is some unburned fuel in the combustion chamber that does not need to be drained. Clean and dry the spark plug contacts, then check its condition. To do this, connect it to the spark plug and place it on the surface of the cylinder. Turn the ignition on and lightly pull the starter handle. The spark plug should produce a good and consistent spark. If the spark is weak or absent, replace the spark plug.
    3. The trimmer may also not start due to too much gap between the spark plug electrodes. The gap between the electrodes should be from 0.7 to 1 mm. The gap can be adjusted using a spark plug gap gauge.

    This is interesting! It is strictly contraindicated to dry spark plug contacts by calcining them, as this method leads to damage to the parts.

    If there is a spark at the spark plug, but the trimmer does not start, the reason is the fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. To verify this, follow these steps:

    • Pour 20 grams of fuel into the cap of a PET bottle or syringe.
    • Screw in the spark plug
    • Install the spark plugs and start the engine
    • Pour into the combustion chamber through the spark plug hole

    If after these steps the engine starts, the cause of the malfunction lies directly in the fuel line and carburetor. If after several steps the engine still does not start, the problem lies in the high-voltage cable. The high voltage cable is a consumable item, just like the spark plug. If you suspect the trimmer's ignition cable is faulty, replace it. If the chainsaw engine cannot be started after work, take into account the following recommendations:

    1. Replace spark plugs and ignition wires if their mechanical condition is in doubt.
    2. Check the serviceability of the spark plug, and if there is no spark on the new spark plug, the problem lies in the ignition module - the ignition coil is faulty.
    3. The ignition coil is not repaired, but replaced. If diagnostics show that the chainsaw ignition coil is faulty, it is easy to replace the coil yourself

    If there is a spark plug, but it is dry and the trimmer does not start, then we move on to checking the next unit - the air and fuel filters.

    This is interesting! If the electrodes on the spark plug are red or pink, this indicates that the fuel used contains a large amount of additives. It is best to avoid such fuel and change the gas station or brand of fuel.

    Rules for operating and storing lawn mowers

    In order for the lawn mower to start well in the future, you need to provide it with good storage and operating conditions:

    • During operation, carefully monitor the cooling system, carefully and promptly clean the channels in the housing, as well as the starter fins;
    • if necessary, use solvents, kerosene and other detergents for cleaning;
    • Do not clean the tool “hot” - let it cool down;
    • strictly follow the operating instructions, otherwise you may overheat the engine;
