Chainsaw oil Partner 350

To extend the service life of the Partner 350 model, you should carefully consider the choice of fuel and oil. To refuel the tool, you need to use gasoline with an octane rating of at least 90. AI-92 gasoline is best suited for a chainsaw.

To mix with fuel, you will need to purchase special oil for two-stroke engines. It has all the necessary additives and substances that extend the life of the engine. It is best to use branded oils from Stihl or Husqvarna brands.

The fuel mixture for the Partner 350 model should be prepared in a ratio of 50:1, that is, 20 ml of oil should be diluted in 1 liter of gasoline.

Do-it-yourself adjustment of the Partner 350 chainsaw carburetor

Adjusting the standard carburetor of a tool is necessary in cases where the engine speeds up slowly, as well as when there is a sharp increase in the amount of fuel consumed. This procedure will help reduce the volume of exhaust gases and extend the life of important saw mechanisms.

There are holes in the upper left part of the tool body that provide easy access to the adjustment screws. If you are adjusting the carburetor of the Partner 350 chainsaw for the first time, then it is best to remove this part of the body. This is necessary in order to see the position of the heads of the factory adjusting screws.

After removing the housing, you will need to move all the adjusting screws to the fully tightened position, and then unscrew them half a turn.

Next, the setup procedure should be performed in this order:

  1. When adjusting a basic carburetor with the cover previously removed, remember that the standard screw on the left is responsible for adjusting the amount of the fuel mixture, and the right one is responsible for its quality. The carburetor also has a third screw, designated T. It can be used to adjust the position of the basic throttle valve when the engine is idling;
  2. After installing the screws in the desired position, you will need to start the faulty Partner chainsaw and give its engine time to warm up. As soon as the standard cylinder heats up, you need to start adjusting the position of the screw for the amount of fuel used. In this case, you need to tighten the screw in the direction of the clock until the motor reaches maximum speed. Immediately after this procedure, the base quantity screw will need to be turned a quarter turn in the opposite direction;
  3. If after this the engine idle speed is increased or decreased, then they need to be adjusted using screw T;
  4. After this, you need to adjust the quality of the fuel mixture. To do this, the right screw will need to be turned until the motor reaches maximum rotation speed. After this, you need to turn it a quarter turn in the opposite direction.

After completing the above steps, you need to turn off the tool. After this, you will need to start the tool’s motor again and check its operation. Provided that the carburetor of the Partner 350 saw is configured correctly, the model’s engine will operate much more stable and quieter. The amount of fuel consumed will also be significantly reduced.

DIY chainsaw repair

All malfunctions of chainsaws can be divided into two main groups: malfunctions of the engine with all its components and systems (ignition, fuel supply system, cylinder-piston group, exhaust system) and malfunctions of other components (chain brake, lubrication system, clutch, tire, etc. .).

Chain lubrication system

If there is a significant (small is considered normal) oil leakage, you need to check the tightness of connecting the tubes to the pump fittings. They may fall off or crack. Violation of the tightness of the oil line, in addition to drips, can also lead to insufficient lubrication of the chain. Pump

begins to suck in air, which affects its performance. Violation of the tightness is eliminated by replacing the tubes or sealing them with sealant.

The most serious failure of the lubrication system is cracks in the oil pump housing. In this case, it will have to be replaced.

Engine malfunctions

  • The engine will not start;
  • starts but stalls;
  • works unsteadily;
  • does not develop power, i.e. It runs fine at idle, but stalls under load.

When repairing a chainsaw with your own hands, you need to use the method of elimination. check one by one all possible causes of the malfunction, starting with those that take less time to check and eliminate (see here about the design and operation of a two-stroke engine).

Ignition system. Almost all types of engine problems listed above can be caused by ignition system failures. Therefore, when they occur, it makes sense to start troubleshooting with a spark plug. This is all the more justified since the state of the latter can provide useful information about the operation of the fuel system. So, if a problem occurs, you need to unscrew the spark plug and inspect it.

The wire is disconnected and the spark plug is unscrewed with a special wrench.

If the spark plug is dry, this means that the problem is most likely not in the ignition system, but in the fuel mixture not entering the cylinder. You can wrap the spark plug back and get to work on the fuel system. If the spark plug is heavily splashed with fuel mixture, it means there is an excess of it. This may occur due to carburetor misadjustment or violation of starting rules. The spark plug is wiped and dried, the cylinder is dried by turning off the fuel supply and operating the starter. to ventilate the combustion chamber and remove excess fuel. Then install the spark plug in place and repeat the start.

The presence of a large amount of black carbon also indicates a malfunction in the fuel system.

The ratio between oil and gasoline in the mixture may be incorrect, the carburetor may not be adjusted, or low-quality oil may be used. The spark plug is washed in gasoline, cleaned of carbon deposits with a needle or awl, the electrodes are cleaned with fine sandpaper and replaced.

In all these cases, it would be a good idea to check the gap between the spark plug electrodes. Depending on its brand, it should be in the range of 0.5-0.65 mm. You also need to check the spark plug seal. If it is worn out or damaged, the tightness of the combustion chamber may not be ensured, which leads to a decrease in compression in the cylinder and problems in engine operation.

Even if, when checking the spark plug, there is good reason to believe that the fault is in the fuel system, you need to check the spark plug for the presence of a spark. At least to be sure that everything is in order. For this:

  • put the ignition cable on the spark plug;
  • using pliers with insulated handles, apply the thread or nut of the spark plug to the cylinder;
  • pull the starter handle and watch. whether there is a spark or not.

If there is no spark, you just need to replace the spark plug. If the new spark plug does not have a spark, you need to check the condition of the high-voltage wire for a break and contact with the spark plug.

The reason for the lack of a spark may also be a faulty ignition module or a violation of the gap between it and the flywheel magnetic circuit. It should be 0.2 mm. Violation of the gap becomes especially likely if the saw was previously disassembled and the flywheel and ignition module were removed. The gap is set using a 0.2 mm thick gasket placed between the flywheel boss and the ignition module. A faulty ignition module must be replaced.

Having checked the ignition system in this way and not finding a malfunction, you can move on to the fuel mixture supply system.

Fuel supply system. If by inspection of the spark plug it is determined that fuel is not entering the cylinder, all possible reasons for this need to be considered. It could be:

  • failure of fuel to flow from the tank due to a clogged hole in its lid (breather), while a vacuum is created in the tank, preventing fuel from leaking out;
  • contamination of the fuel filter installed in the tank;
  • no or insufficient supply of fuel mixture from the carburetor to the cylinder.

To diagnose the first two reasons, it is enough to disconnect the fuel hose from the carburetor and see whether fuel flows out of it or not. If it flows in full stream, the breather and filter do not need to be checked; if it does not flow or flows weakly, we can assume that the cause of the malfunction has been found. The breather is cleaned with a needle. The fuel filter is removed through the filler hole of the empty fuel tank using a wire hook, along with a suction hose, from which the filter is disconnected and cleaned or replaced with a new one. Chainsaw manufacturers recommend changing the fuel filter every 3 months.

READ Where to Get Gasoline for a Chainsaw

Insufficient supply of the fuel mixture from the carburetor to the cylinder or a violation of the correct ratio between fuel and air mixed in the carburetor can occur for several reasons: due to a clogged air filter, unadjusted carburetor, clogged channels or filter mesh.

As a rule, repairing chainsaws is not complete without cleaning the air filter, since it gets dirty quite quickly. When this happens, the flow of air into the carburetor is reduced, and the fuel mixture leaving it becomes too rich, which disrupts the normal operation of the engine. You need to carefully remove a dirty filter for cleaning so that dirt does not get into the carburetor. The filter should be cleaned or washed in water with some detergent, dried and installed back.

Carburetor misalignment can be corrected by adjusting it. This is usually done using three screws. maximum and minimum speed and idle speed screw. Adjustment must be carried out in strict accordance with the instructions, failure to comply with which may lead to engine damage. Some saw manufacturers leave only one adjustment screw (idle speed). to prevent unwanted interference by inexperienced users with the operation of the carburetor. For an example of adjusting a chainsaw carburetor, see the article Working with a chainsaw.

If adjusting the carburetor does not help, you need to clean its channels and filter mesh, and at the same time check the integrity of the membrane. Carburetor. one of the most complex devices of a chainsaw, so you need to start disassembling and cleaning it with a full understanding of the responsibility of this operation. It consists of many small parts that have the ability to unnoticeably jump out of their places and get lost irretrievably, so that after disassembling this capricious device, you may not be able to reassemble it.

Below is a diagram of another chainsaw carburetor.

If you do not have experience and self-confidence, it is better to entrust the repair of a chainsaw carburetor to a service center specialist. Sometimes, to properly clean the carburetor, it is necessary to use ultrasonic cleaning.

Muffler. Often the cause of engine malfunction, especially when the engine operates normally at low speeds and stalls under load, is clogging of the muffler spark arrester with combustion products, which prevents normal exhaust. Repair in this case consists of removing the muffler, disassembling it (if it is dismountable) and wet cleaning it from carbon deposits using detergents. The non-removable muffler is dried with a hairdryer after washing. Remember that carbon deposits contain substances that are carcinogens, and dry cleaning, which could result in their inhalation, is unacceptable. When removing the muffler, plug the engine exhaust hole with a clean rag.

Some of the reasons why the muffler may become clogged. This is the use of a fuel mixture with an excess amount of oil (the amount of oil is more than the manufacturer recommends), and the use of either oil not intended for two-stroke engines or low-quality oil.

Cylinder-piston group. Malfunctions of the cylinder-piston group are among the most serious. This is wear of the cylinder and piston, scratches and scuffs on their surface, wear or sinking in the grooves of the piston rings, wear of the crankshaft bearings. Most of these malfunctions lead to a drop in cylinder pressure and, as a result, the engine is unable to start, or is unable to produce full power. There are several ways to assess the condition of the cylinder-piston group (CPG).

You can remove the muffler and look through the window that opens, in which part of the side surface of the cylinder is visible. Despite the limitations of the review, it is still possible to obtain a general idea of the state of the CPG in this way.

It is useful to measure the compression in the engine, which is quite informative regarding the condition of the CPG parts. The operation is carried out using a compression gauge installed in the spark plug hole.

The crankshaft is turned using an electric motor (drill) with a flexible shaft or manually with a starter, while monitoring the pressure using a pressure gauge. The latter for a working chainsaw should be no lower than 8-9 atm (0.8-0.9 MPa). As it decreases, engine power also decreases. At a pressure of 5 atm, the engine may work, but only at idle.

The condition of the CPG can only be accurately assessed by completely disassembling the engine. by disconnecting the crankcase from the cylinder and removing the piston. If the latter has burrs, chips or deep scratches, it needs to be replaced. With regard to the cylinder, if the surface is worn out or damaged, it is possible to bore it to the repair size. Low compression may also be caused by wear or coking of the piston ring. A working ring should be clean of carbon deposits, sit freely in the piston groove and press tightly against the inner surface of the cylinder.

Chain brake

Replacement of wear parts

If you do not replace wearing parts in a timely manner, their excessive wear will negatively affect the remaining components of the chainsaw. In particular, if the tire and drive sprocket are not changed in time, increased vibration will negatively affect the crankshaft bearings. The maximum working depth of the sprocket teeth should be 0.5 mm. In practice, sprockets are often operated to a wear depth of 1 mm or more. unaware that this leads to increased load on the crankshaft bearings and accelerated failure. When 3-4 chains wear out, it is necessary to change the tire itself; by this time its wear reaches its maximum values.

The chainsaw bar wears especially hard in the area where cutting is done most frequently, usually. this is the underside of the guide bar. To ensure uniform wear, each time the chain is replaced, the bar must be turned 180° relative to the horizontal axis.

When installing a new chain, a new drive sprocket should be installed. Since under normal load the service life of the drive sprocket is twice as long as the service life of the chain, it is advisable to use one sprocket for alternate operation of two chains. Thanks to this, the sprocket and chains wear out almost simultaneously. If a new chain is placed on a worn sprocket, the drive links of the chain will wear out much faster. For cost-effective operation of a chainsaw, always use together: one guide bar, two chain sprockets, four saw chains.

Chainsaw Partner 350 – ignition adjustment

If the Partner 350 saw stops starting, then you need to check the condition of the spark plug and ignition system. To do this, you will need to unscrew the part and inspect it. If it is clean with small light spots, then you need to adjust the tool’s ignition system.

Next you need to check the voltage of the high-voltage cable. To do this, use a light bulb or probe. If there is no voltage, the problem is a broken wire. If it is intact and is not broken anywhere, then you need to adjust the gap in the ignition system of the Partner 350 model.

To adjust the clearance, turn the 2 side bolts located next to the tool flywheel. As a result, the flywheel moves away from the ignition coil. After this, you will need to install a probe between the parts and turn the side bolts in the opposite direction. In this case, the flywheel should move closer to the coil. At the end, you need to carefully remove the probe and assemble the saw.

Chainsaw Partner 350 – malfunctions and their elimination

Most owners of this Partner model encounter problems that can be considered typical for this configuration of the tool. To be able to eliminate them, you should understand the causes of breakdowns and study the most effective methods of repairing them.

Chainsaw Partner 350 starts and stalls - how to solve the problem?

The most common cause of this breakdown is a clogged air filter. Due to dust, debris and insects, it is not able to pass the amount of air that is necessary for the normal operation of the Partner 350 chainsaw. In this case, you will need to remove the filter and wash it with clean gasoline. If this does not help, then the filter element should be replaced completely.

Another common cause is a faulty spark plug. To check, you will need to unscrew the part and inspect it. If there are small light spots on the spark plug, it means the part is working properly. However, if the ceramic walls of the candle are covered with a thick layer of soot and oil, then it needs to be cleaned. To do this, you need to heat the candle with a lighter and carefully scrape off the carbon deposits. If this does not help, the spark plug will need to be replaced.

What to do if the Partner 350 chainsaw does not start?

In this case, you need to carefully check the ignition system of the tool. Most often, the saw will not start if the gap between the magneto and the ignition coil is broken. In this case, you will need to disassemble the saw and adjust the distance between these parts. If you don’t have a sample on hand, you can use a pocket calendar or a paper business card instead.

Also, the Partner 350 chainsaw may not start due to a clogged fuel filter. If a lot of debris has accumulated in it, then it will not allow the amount of fuel the engine needs to pass through. In this case, the filter will need to be replaced.

The chain on the Partner 350 chainsaw is not lubricated - troubleshooting

The main reason for this malfunction is a loss of tightness or a break in the hose through which oil circulates for the chainsaw chain. In this case, you need to remove the top and side shields of the chainsaw body, and also inspect them for stains. To solve the problem you need to replace the worn hose. When installing, sealant will need to be applied where it is attached to the pump.

If the cause of the breakdown does not lie in the hose, then you need to inspect the oil pump. It may be clogged or broken. If you cannot wash the part, then it is best to replace it with a new one.

Filling a spark plug on a Partner 350 chainsaw - troubleshooting

Often the spark plug on a chainsaw begins to flood due to prolonged use of an incorrectly prepared fuel mixture. If you mix a large amount of oil in gasoline, this will cause the fuel pump to malfunction. Oil will flow from it into the housing, including onto the spark plug of the chainsaw.

Another common problem is a broken fuel pump. To check its operation, you should remove the tool body and start the engine. Next you need to press the gas trigger several times. If oil flows out of the pump, it means it is faulty.

As a rule, chainsaw fuel pumps cannot be repaired. It's best to replace it completely. To extend the life of the new pump, in the future you need to use only high-quality fuel and motor oil to refuel the Partner 350 chainsaw.

Malfunctions and repairs of the chainsaw 350 with the partner’s own hands

Chainsaw Partner 350. one of the most common gasoline saws. Very often, their owners ask questions about how to repair the Partner 350. After reading the article, you will learn the answers to questions about how to diagnose problems in the Partner, as well as how to solve them yourself.

IMPORTANT. An experienced electrician leaked the secret to the network on how to pay half as much for electricity legally. Read more

Diagnostics of the Partner 350 chainsaw

Correct identification of a malfunction is already more than half of the repair. In case of malfunctions due to the fact that the saw does not start, the essence of the diagnosis. check the spark and the presence of fuel in the cylinder, since there is nothing in the chainsaw to burn or nothing to set on fire,

Spark test

To check the spark, you need to unscrew the spark plug, install it in the cap of the high-voltage wire and attach it to the cylinder (there must be ground on the spark plugs). Then pull the starter several times while looking carefully at the spark plug. There will be no sparks if the Partner 350 chainsaw has malfunctions such as:

  • defective candle (can only be eliminated by replacing it with a known good);
  • broken wires in the system;
  • malfunction of the ignition control button;
  • faulty ignition coil;
  • no gap between the coil and the flywheel;
  • broken key between the crankshaft and the flywheel.

Fuel testing

The first sign that a cylinder is not getting fuel is a dry spark plug. Having opened the dry spark plug, the next thing you need to do to more accurately determine the fault is to try to run 350 partner nozzles into the cylinder through the spark plug hole, no more than 5 ml of gasoline. If the chainsaw does not start, then most likely there is no compression in it or it is not enough to start the engine. Causes:

  • processor wear;
  • thermal entrainment of the cylinder or piston;
  • Biting due to penetration of a foreign body into the GPG.

If the saw is started after the spark plug has been filled with gasoline, then the problem is in the carburetor or fuel line of the partner 350. A complete diagnosis of the fuel system will need to be performed.

Bearing diagnostics

After diagnosing the chainsaw, you need to check the crankshaft bearings for play. To do this, the flywheel must be extended up and down. If there is any play, the bearings need to be replaced.

Also be sure to check the crankshaft crankshaft stroke. To do this, the piston must be fixed in the upper position and gradually push the flywheel from left to right, simulating its natural movement. If there is any play, the Partner 350 crankshaft needs to be replaced.

tools

To disassemble the Partner 350, you will need several special tools:

  1. Clutch key (can be purchased or made from a suitable socket).
  2. Piston stop.
  3. Torx hex set.
  4. Soft metal hammer.

READ How to Make a Hiller Out of a Chainsaw

For ease of disassembly, Partner 350 will need tweezers and a medical clamp. As for ordinary tools, you need to have a screwdriver or a cordless drill with a set of attachments, and a hammer.

Algorithm and description of the disassembly process

If you need to completely disassemble your Partner 350 chainsaw, the first step is to start disassembling it. This is cleaning the saw with a compressor. The chainsaws are then removed in the following order:

  • chain brake cap and saw kit;
  • top cover;
  • saw handle;
  • starter.

After completing the first stage of disassembly, we will again clean the chainsaw with a compressor, since we already have access to the air ducts, which in most cases are heavily contaminated with wood dust.

The next step is to conveniently remove the air filter housing and Partner 350 carburetor.

After removing the carburetor, the cylinder inlet window should be clogged with rags, this will protect against foreign objects falling into the engine crankcase.

The muffler can be removed either immediately after removing the carburetor or after removing the engine. The exit window is also covered with rags.

The clutch and flywheel are then removed.

To do this, you need to apply a piston plug by installing it in the spark plug hole.

The clutch on all Partner 350 chain saws unscrews along the chain, this is done so that it does not unwind during operation. The flywheel nut has a standard thread and is unscrewed using socket 13 counterclockwise.

After removing the coupling, the oil pump becomes accessible; it must also be removed.

The last step is to unscrew the motor screws and remove it from the housing.

Instructions for removing the flywheel from the crankshaft

To remove the flywheel, you will need a special puller, but most mechanics use a soft metal knockout as it speeds up the removal process significantly.

The idea is that the flywheel nut is twisted until it is equal to the plane of the shaft, and then the flywheel is removed from the shaft using a hammer and a hammer mounted on the nut with one sharp blow.

The method is a little barbaric, but time-tested and recommended by many masters as the most practical and reliable.

Build Partner 350

To properly assemble the Partner 350, you must install all items in the reverse order for removal.

If this is your first time repairing a Partner 350 chainsaw, disassemble the parts in the order in which they were removed. It won't get tangled and don't forget to install any knot.

An important feature of the Partner 350 engine assembly is that the crankcase cover is installed without a gasket. Instead, he uses a red sealant that is applied thinly to the crankcase mounting area. Before applying the sealant, it is necessary to degrease the crankcase cover and its installation site for better adhesion of the sealant.

Installing the flywheel and coil clearance (ignition adjustment)

During the process of assembling the Partner 350 chainsaw, if it was removed not only the flywheel, but also the ignition coil, you need to establish a gap between them. To do this, first install the flywheel, then a piece of 1.5 liter plastic bottle is placed on it, and then the coil is installed and fixed with two mounting screws, and the flywheel should turn onto the coil with magnetic contacts.

READ How to Replace the Breather on a Husqvarna 357 Chainsaw

After adjusting the clearance, turn the flywheel. If it does not touch the coil contacts, the gap is set correctly.

Replacing the piston group

If it is necessary to replace the cylinder and piston of the Partner 350 chainsaw, it must be disassembled in accordance with the algorithm described above. The piston is fixed at the top of the crankshaft connecting rod with a piston pin. Between the pin and the connecting rod there is a cage with roller bearings.

To replace the piston and cylinder, it is necessary to remove the piston from the cylinder and remove it from the crankshaft; to do this, remove the piston pin stopper from one side of the piston using pliers and a small screwdriver.

Then, from the opposite side, it is squeezed out with a small screwdriver. If the pin comes out tight, it can be slowly knocked out with a hammer and a knockout that fits but is smaller than the diameter of the piston pin pin hole.

The new piston is installed on the crankshaft in such a way that the arrow on the piston cover is clamped in the direction of chain movement.

To check the correct installation, you need to take the crankshaft with the piston installed on it, so that the shaft on which the flywheel is installed is in your left hand, and the arrow should be facing away from you.

Once the new piston is installed on the crankshaft, the ring is installed on it, after which the piston is inserted into the cylinder, and the parts should be lubricated with engine oil, which will prevent the ring from breaking and make the process easier. Then the crankcase is installed.

Service center technicians use an algorithm for replacing the piston group, which allows them to work without completely disassembling the Partner 350 chain saw. How this replacement can be viewed in the video.

Where's the respite?

The Partner 350 chainsaw, like other chainsaws, has two breathing apparatus. One is responsible for equalizing the pressure in the oil tank, the second for the fuel tank. The oil tank-breather is installed next to its lid, and on top of the chimney there is a special disposable metal plug that allows air to pass through.

The Partner 350 fuel tank is located in the carburetor installation area, since the previous one is covered with a lid.

Recommendations: The reagent should be replaced when a vacuum is created in the tanks and the supply of fuel and oil is stopped.

Oil pump repair and drive sprocket replacement

Repairing the oil pump on the Partner 350 chain saw is necessary if the oil supply is completely or partially stopped. The oil pump mechanism includes the pump itself and a gear with a worm gear, which is driven by a sprocket in combination with a clutch.

The most common problem with an oil pump is missing threads and splines on the gear or slots on the worm gear. You can correct the situation by replacing the parts with new ones.

To remove the oil pump on the Partner 350, you need to remove the side cover and chainsaw, then lock the piston and use a special wrench or a homemade 24mm socket wrench to unscrew the clutch.

READ Husqvarna 562 XP Chainsaw – Tools Review

The clutch has a high tightening torque, so you need to use wrenches and twist strictly clockwise. Do not try to unscrew the clutch with a hammer and chisel, this often leads to breakdown of the mechanism and also has a bad effect on the condition of the crankshaft bearings.

To replace the Partner 350 drive sprocket, you simply need to unscrew the clutch, remove the old part and install the new one. The sprocket is mounted on the shaft through a needle bearing. When replacing the sprocket, it is necessary to check for defects and lubricate it with oil. For lubrication, you can use regular lithol or any other high-speed engine.

The process of replacing the drive sprocket is shown in the video, after which you can easily repeat what you saw on your chainsaw.

Troubleshooting common problems

The Partner 350 has a popular error that owners of these saws can diagnose and fix themselves. Let's take a closer look at popular faults and how to repair them yourself.

Stalls when you press the gas

If the Partner 350 stalls when you press the gas, then there is most likely a problem with the fuel system. The most common failure is an incorrectly adjusted or malfunctioning carburetor, as well as foreign air intake.

Advice. If the chain saw stops as speed increases, do not adjust the carburetor immediately. Start by checking the engine for air intake. One sign of air intake is an increase in idle speed.

Launch and kiosks

If a partner 350 starts and immediately stops, then as in the previous case, there could be several reasons, but the most common is a difficult fuel supply. To begin troubleshooting, you need to check the condition of the fuel filter and lines. If the fuel flows normally, then check the spark and try starting the chainsaw on a new spark plug, as the saw may stall due to sparks with a sparkling light.

Also check the choke draft. If it doesn't open the throttle or doesn't open all the way, the engine may stall due to excessive fuel enrichment.

Chain lubrication

There are several reasons for the lack of lubricant supply to the Partner 350 chainsaw, and in this case we can list them all.

  1. The oil line breaks.
  2. The oil filter is dirty.
  3. Worm drive is faulty.
  4. Blockage of the main or pump.

How to solve oil pump problems is described above.

Fills the candle

A very common problem faced by owners of the Partner 350. The first thing to check is replacing the spark plug with a known good. If this does not help, the spark is good, but the engine is flooded, the reason is hidden in the carburetor settings. Instructions for diagnosing and adjusting the carburetor on the Partner 350 are on our website.

The power component of the device is a single-cylinder 2-stroke engine running on a fuel mixture. A reinforced piston group, a large torque reserve, and an effective air cooling system extend the service life of the device. With a cylinder volume of 34 cm3 and a piston stroke of 3.2 cm, the chainsaw generates a rated power of 1.3 kW. This is enough to create high cutting speeds in both horizontal and vertical directions.

Operating parameters of the Partner 350 chainsaw

  • Thrust – 1.5 kW;
  • Motor speed range – 3-13 thousand rpm;
  • Fuel tank – 0.25 l;
  • Oil tank – 0.15 l;
  • Guide – 400 mm;
  • Chain – 52 links with 3/8 pitch;
  • Weight – 4.6 kg.

As standard, the factory equipment for the 350 model includes a 52-link “Oregon” 91P052E chain. After wear, it can be replaced with the same blade or others:

  • Husqvarna 5776151-22;
  • Stihl 39970000052s.

It is important that the number of links does not fall within the range of 46-52 pieces.

Device

The general arrangement is made in a traditional style. It is distinguished by its simplicity, which means high reliability of the unit.

The air filter is equipped with a double air purification system. As a result of equipping the starter drum with an impeller, large debris particles do not reach the filter at all. Thanks to this, its service life increases, and the degree of air purification increases. In general, this has a beneficial effect on engine performance.

Safe handling of a running saw is achieved by the presence of a chain brake operating in two modes - manual and automatic.

Oil pump

turns on only while sawing. This means that the chain lubrication system operates automatically. It must be borne in mind that different types of oils are used to lubricate the chain and prepare the working mixture. The video will help you find out what oil is used for the Partner 350 chainsaw

Saw chains. The Partner 350 saw is equipped with an Oregon 91P052E 3/8″ 1.3 mm 52 link chain. Replacement is acceptable

analogues: Stihl 39970000052с and others. For example, Husqvarna 5776151-22. Pay attention to the fact that with a chain pitch of 3/8″ and a groove width of 1.3 mm, the number of links does not exceed 52. Less (46 – 50) is possible, more is not advisable.

The anti-vibration system on the Partner 350 is somewhat harsh. Considering that this saw is not intended for professional use, the system as a whole can be considered satisfactory. By the way, significant improvements have been made in this regard on subsequent models.

Recommended components, parts, mechanisms and fuels and lubricants cannot be replaced with analogues.

Setting up the Partner 350 chainsaw

According to the operating instructions, before starting the Partner 350 chainsaw, it undergoes special training, which includes:

  • installation of the saw set or checking its tension for already installed parts;
  • checking the serviceability of the brake band;
  • placing the brake handle in a ready state as shown in the figure;

  • filling the oiler and gas tank with fuels and lubricants. The fuel mixture is prepared in a ratio of 1:50 from oil for 2-stroke engines and unleaded gasoline AI-92.

The launch is carried out on a flat surface, sharply pulling the throttle cable. During a cold start, open the air damper and allow the chainsaw to warm up. Only after this can you gain momentum and move on to woodworking.

All possible nuances of adjusting the Partner 350 chainsaw with your own hands are described in detail in the operating instructions. If they are not followed, the instrument is not insured against malfunctions and repairs, the budget of which may be unpredictable.

The Partner chainsaw DOES NOT SUPPLY OIL TO THE CHAIN.

In this video we will take a closer look at the fuel pump of the Partner . Let's find out why the Partner chainsaw is NOT

Chainsaw Partner 350 starts and stalls

There may be several reasons for this malfunction. Most often, the engine of the tool starts and immediately stalls due to a clogged factory breather, as a result of which fuel does not enter the engine cylinder in sufficient quantity for operation. To fix the damage, you will need to remove and clean the breather. If it is damaged, then it will need to be replaced.

Another reason is the missing connection between the spark plug and the electrical wiring cap. This can happen due to mechanical shock or the formation of carbon deposits from engine oil on the spark plug. To repair the Partner 350 chainsaw, the spark plug will need to be removed and cleaned. In some cases, completely replacing the spark plug may help.

READ Chainsaw Partner 350 No Gasoline Supply

The third reason for the malfunction is that the standard muffler of the chain saw is severely clogged. Over time, carbon deposits form on its walls, which prevents waste from exhausting the engine. As a result, gases accumulate inside the engine and interfere with its proper operation. To fix the damage, you need to remove the muffler and clean it with compressed air. You will also need to disassemble the engine and bleed its cylinder.

Chainsaw “Partner” 350 malfunctions and their elimination

The most vulnerable systems of the 350th chainsaw from the Partner brand are:

  • motor part;
  • ignition system;
  • lubrication supply problems.

Diagnosis of engine failures

If the engine stalls or does not start at all, the reasons may be the following:

  • lack of gasoline or air supply;
  • there is no spark to ignite.

For a more accurate analysis of the situation, you need to:

  • make sure that the fuel reaches the carburetor part - if not, then:
  • saw's gas tank is empty:
  • the float needle is clogged;
  • air access to the fuel tank is stopped;
  • The gasoline filter is clogged. These breakdowns can be eliminated by cleaning the cleaning systems and refilling the chainsaw with high-quality fuel.
  • if gasoline reaches the carburetor, examine the spark plug for defects - it should be dry and with the correct gap. Based on its external condition, one can judge possible malfunctions of the entire instrument (see figure below).
  • If it does not spark after connecting to a grounded wire, the problem is with the spark plug itself and will likely need to be replaced. In addition to the spark plug, other spare parts often fail - the ignition coil or switch;
  • detecting a wet spark plug is a sure sign that the spark plug is flooding. This may be due to:
  • incorrect or failed carburetor factory settings;
  • filling the carburetor block with fuel.,

In any case, it is necessary to update the carburetor settings.

Carburetor adjustment

  • warm up the engine;
  • tighten screw L until it stops, then loosen it by a quarter;
  • if the saw continues to stall at idle, turn the T jet;
  • For correct operation of the “Partner” chainsaw under load, use screw H to achieve maximum speed.

For installation, it is advisable to have a universal key and a tachometer (crankshaft rotation counter) on hand. Carburetor installation and ignition adjustment are still performed. Therefore, there is no need to reconfigure a completely new saw.

Oil supply system malfunctions

The situation when chain lubrication involuntarily flows out of the chainsaw body and does not reach the cutting parts does not indicate the need to repair the oil pump, clean the oil supply pipes, or replace them with serviceable spare parts. In addition, lubricant drips may indicate depressurization of the connection between the pipes and the oil sump. If these breakdowns are not corrected in time, the chain will begin to overheat, stretch and fail prematurely.

Do-it-yourself repairs to the Partner 350 chainsaw should only be carried out by people who understand its structure and operating principle. Only in this case can we hope that the replacement of the drive sprocket or crankshaft will be carried out correctly and safely for further work.

One of the most popular household chainsaws in Russia is the 350th saw model from Partner. This can be explained by a number of advantages of this model.

The most important qualities of such saws, which characterize them on the positive side:

  • compactness and light weight with sufficient power;
  • relatively affordable price;
  • durability;
  • excellent repair base.

Lubrication system malfunctions and how to fix them

The main malfunctions of the oil supply system on a chainsaw can be divided into two main types: these are general malfunctions inherent in all chainsaws and individual ones, which may vary depending on the type of pump and worm gear installed on a particular model. Let's begin to understand the faults in order.

Operating a chainsaw without lubricating the chainsaw chain is prohibited. This has a detrimental effect on the bar, drive sprocket and chain, and can result in significant repair costs.

Signs of a malfunction of the lubrication system, checking its performance

  • The chainsaw chain is dry and has a pale tint without shine.
  • The chain stretches relatively quickly.
  • The tire is very hot and may even partially melt the paint.
  • The oil from the tank is practically not reduced.
  • Reduced cutting efficiency on a sharp chain

All these signs indicate that the lubrication process is not proceeding properly. In order to check the oil supply to the lubrication system, you need to remove the side tire of the chainsaw and start it. Next, you need to slightly increase the speed while observing the end of the oil line. If oil comes in, most likely the amount is not enough for normal lubrication and you need to clean or replace the filter and, if possible, adjust the flow. If it does not, the problem is more serious and requires further diagnosis.

There is a way to check the oil supply without removing the tires. To do this, you need to point the end of the bar towards, for example, a freshly cut piece of wood from the side of the cut and increase the speed as much as possible, while trying to keep the end of the bar at a distance of no more than 10 cm from the block. If oil spots begin to appear on its surface, it means the oil is being supplied.

Troubleshooting

Once it has been determined that oil is not being supplied, further diagnosis is only possible if the oil system is completely removed. Of course, in some situations replacing the filter helps, but this is very rare.

Access to the oil pump of some models of saws is possible only after complete disassembly; therefore, without having the skills to repair gas-powered tools, it is better to entrust repairs to professionals.

Most common faults

  1. Broken oil hose. It can sometimes be detected by visual inspection. The problem is solved by replacing the faulty part.
  2. There is no thread on the oil pump shaft; replacing it will help.

  3. A defective thread on the pump drive gear can be similarly solved by installing a new part.
  4. Lack of main shaft corkscrew (relevant for some instrument models, for example, Homelite). You can fix it by installing a nail of a suitable diameter instead of the original corkscrew, cutting it to the required length.
  5. Blockage in the line. Can be removed by blowing with compressed air or mechanically, using a wire of a suitable diameter.
  6. Filter element clogged.
  7. The Stihl MS 180 tool, whose pump is not dismountable, often gets clogged. You can try to wash it in clean gasoline, if that doesn’t help, replace it.
  8. In Chinese chainsaws (Gypsy), it very often cuts off the grooves on the main gear, through which the force from the sprocket is transmitted to it.

Individual malfunction of the Stihl MS 180 lubrication system

Due to the fact that the Stihl MS 180 is one of the most common models of chainsaws, I would like to dwell in more detail on one fault inherent only to it and describe a method for eliminating it without replacing parts.

Quite often, on the Shtil MS 180 chainsaw, depressurization of the oil line is observed in the place where the oil line coming from the tank is installed in the saw body. The malfunction can be determined by the characteristic lubricant leaks on the bottom of the tool.

To eliminate the problem, you need to remove the chainsaw handle, remove the hose from the mounting hole, clean and degrease. After all these manipulations, apply sealant to the hose seat and install it into the chainsaw body.

You can learn more about troubleshooting and complete diagnostics of the lubrication system of the Stihl chainsaw by watching a video that shows the step-by-step process of disassembling and repairing the lubrication system.

Chainsaws Partner - features

Many sources claim that it was this Swedish company that produced the first mass-produced household chainsaws in Europe. And this happened in 1949.

We generally believe that these are good Chinese saws, and this is partly true - most of the Partner chainsaws sold on our market are assembled in China, as is honestly written on their nameplates. But besides China, saws of this brand are also produced in America, Italy, Norway and England, and they can also be purchased in Russia.

For more than 10 years, this brand has belonged to the Husqvarna concern, one of the leading manufacturers in this segment, which affects not only the design features of the saw, but also the widest network of service centers capable of quickly and efficiently servicing it.

Few people know, but for the first time the chain brake of chainsaws and the heated handle system were used on Partner chainsaws, so they should not be underestimated.

There are about 30 modifications of chainsaws of this brand. From the lowest-power saw Partner 340S produced today, with 1.44 kW of power at 13,500 rpm, to the most powerful Partner 842, with its 1.6 kW at 12 thousand rpm.

But, perhaps, the 350th model remains the most purchased in Russia.

Replacing the oil pump using the example of a Chinese saw Partner

The oil pump is a fairly reliable element of the chainsaw. However, during operation, malfunctions may occur, the elimination of which requires its replacement. For example, to dismantle the oil pump on a “Partner” chainsaw, you must perform the following steps:

  1. Unscrew the bolts securing the crankcase cover;

  2. Remove the cover;

  3. Move the saw chain to the side and remove the bar;

  4. Remove the saw chain;

  5. Remove the air filter housing and the filter itself;

  6. Remove the spark plug;

  7. Unscrew the starter cover and remove it. This is necessary so that during the process of cranking the engine crankshaft, the ratchet teeth do not deform and the starter does not break;

  8. While turning the flywheel, set the piston at top dead center (directly below the spark plug hole) and insert a pre-prepared fabric harness into it. This will help fix the piston in one position and protect the walls of the combustion chamber from mechanical damage;

  9. Using a puller, unscrew the clutch retaining clip. Unscrewing must be done clockwise. To do this, some models have a stamping with an index arrow and the inscription “Off”;

  10. Remove the friction element, drum and clutch bearing;

  11. Remove any remaining dirt formed during work;

  12. Using a screwdriver, move the cover lock to the side and remove it;

  13. Unscrew the screws securing the pump;

  14. Carefully, using a screwdriver, pry the pump housing up and lift it to the side and remove it from the mounting socket. After this, it is necessary to turn off the supply and suction lines.

Installation of a new pump is carried out in the reverse order.

We also recommend watching the video instructions, the author of which explains in detail and shows how to replace the oil pump on a Partner chainsaw.

Review of saw Partner 350

This is what we will look at in more detail.

Specifications:

  • power 1.52 kW;
  • working volume 36 cm3;
  • idle speed 3000 rpm;
  • maximum recommended rotation speed 13,000 rpm;
  • saw bar length 40 cm;
  • chain pitch 3/8".

It is possible to use saw bars 45 cm long, but for this length the saw is still rather weak.

The saw is equipped with a hand chain brake, an easy start system, a primer for pumping fuel, a carburetor air damper regulator, has chrome-plated cylinder walls and a cyclotron air preparation system. It is assembled quite well and, inferior in class to its more famous classmates from Husqvarna and Shtil, surpasses in its consumer characteristics almost all other chainsaws in the household segment.

Chainsaw Partner 350: faults and their elimination

One of the main features of this saw, its users note durability of operation with a minimum number of failures. And yet they happen. To determine why the saw stopped working, you need to perform basic diagnostics.

If the saw does not start, then:

  • there is no spark on the spark plug;
  • fuel is not supplied;
  • no air coming in.

First you should check for the presence of a spark: by unscrewing the spark plug, connecting it to the high-voltage wire and placing it on the cylinder, pull the starter. If there is a spark, then clean and adjust the gap on the spark plug (0.5 - 0.65 mm). If it is not there, then you need to change: either the flywheel or the coil (magneto). In addition, the spark plug itself may fail or the high-voltage wire may break.

The next step is to check the fuel supply. To do this, you need to disconnect the supply hose from the carburetor and check its presence. Absence may indicate that the fuel filter or delivery system is clogged. The carburetor itself may also become clogged.

If you do not have experience in repairing and cleaning it, entrust this work to specialists.

If the air supply deteriorates, the saw should start, but it will not work well. Remove and wash the air filter. Put it back in place only after it has completely dried.

If the saw starts well, idles and stalls when gas is supplied , the muffler is most likely clogged. Remove, disassemble, wash, put back and continue working.

You can also easily change the saw bar and chain, carburetor, starter, oil pump, ignition and clutch with your own hands.

Here is a video of a complete disassembly of this saw:

And you will be able to replace a broken starter cable after watching this video:

We recommend entrusting more complex chainsaw repairs related to replacing the cylinder-piston group or crankshaft to specialists, although if you are familiar with two-stroke engines, then this work will not be difficult for you, and spare parts for Partner chainsaws are not in short supply in Russia.

To enlarge a picture, click on its thumbnail.

We advise you to regularly monitor the serviceability of the safety group: brake and chain catcher. Remember that the saw should be thoroughly cleaned of small chips. It can not only clog technological holes in the oil pump and other places, but also interfere with the operation of the brake.

Operating Instructions for Partner 350

In this manual you will find not only a detailed description of the saw, but also basic techniques for working with the tool. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that this chainsaw can run on AI95 or AI92 gasoline with the addition of oil for two-stroke engines in a ratio of 1:50.

Engine malfunctions

  • the engine does not start;
  • starts but stalls;
  • works unstably;
  • does not develop power, i.e. It runs fine at idle, but stalls under load.

When repairing a chainsaw with your own hands, you need to act by elimination - inspect alternately all the possible causes of a malfunction, starting with those that take the least time to check and eliminate (see here for information on the design and operation of a two-stroke engine).

Ignition system

Adjusting the carburetor of the Partner 350 chainsaw

This is the most frequently performed procedure when servicing a chainsaw, performed by the owner himself, so it is worth learning. It is similar to adjusting the carburetors of most chainsaws and is described in sufficient detail in the proposed video:

It is important to complete it by adjusting the idle speed screw, which ensures that the chain remains stationary when operating in this mode. If the chain does not stop at the lowest stable speed, this indicates that the clutch needs repair and the saw is unsafe to use.

Disadvantages of the saw

On the Russian market you can find low-quality fakes of the Partner 350 chainsaw, which is not only additional evidence of its popularity, but also harms the brand as a whole. And other models of this brand are popular with summer residents and farmers.

If you are ready to consider the Partner 350 as your home tool for sawing thin trees, trimming branches and other not very voluminous work, then you should also know the disadvantages, most often mentioned by their owners:

1. The vibration damping system is not of very high quality, as a result of which the hands get tired quite quickly. But, considering that this is a household tool that requires 15–20 minutes of rest every 20–25 minutes of work, you can put up with this drawback.

2. Oil leakage from the chain lubrication system, which, however, affects most chainsaws equipped with it, including the more famous relative of Partner chainsaws - Husqvarna. (link)

3. Lack of visual control of the oil level, which is not very convenient in operation, and operating the saw without lubrication will lead to rapid stretching, overheating and wear of the chain.

Of course, you can use this saw to cut down a tree up to 30 - 35 centimeters thick, but its main purpose is to work on the site. Therefore, in conclusion, we offer you the most objective video review of this model:
